Persian: Breed specifications

Country of Origin:
Persia (Iran)
Coat:
The fur of the Persian Longhair is long and full, with a dense, fine, silky structure. The distinct fur of this breed is makes for a formidable collar and the tail, too, should be full. Today, the Persian is being bred in countless varying fur patterns and colours.
Character:
Persians are among the cat breeds that are the calmest in nature. The character of the Persian Longhair is often being described as somewhat phlegmatic and very modest. Persians enjoy being cuddled and petted and love to be pampered. Most Persians like being indoors and don’t care to go outdoors too much.
Care:
Fur care is a very important, if not the most important aspect of keeping a Persian Longhair. For people who appreciate a cat with a calm character and enjoy caring for their cat’s fur every day, the Persian makes an excellent housemate.
